Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00/7:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch; 40–45 hours per week depending on candidate preference

A private household in Bellevue, WA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Formal Housekeeper to take full responsibility for the care and upkeep of their approximately 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom residence with a basement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully cared-for home and is comfortable working independently. The housekeeper will be the sole housekeeper for the residence and should be confident managing the complete housekeeping routine from start to finish.

The family is flexible regarding whether the candidate prefers approximately 40 or 45 hours per week. A typical schedule will begin at 9:00 AM and end around 6:00 or 7:00 PM, depending on the agreed-upon weekly hours, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch.

 Responsibilities

• Perform complete daily and detailed housekeeping throughout the residence, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining all rooms and surfaces to a high standard.
• Manage all household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, steaming, and proper care of clothing and household linens.
• Maintain bedrooms and bathrooms, change and care for bed linens, and ensure rooms are consistently clean, polished, and guest-ready.
• Organize closets, cabinets, storage areas, and household belongings while maintaining established systems throughout the home.
• Monitor household cleaning supplies and related inventory and communicate when items need to be replenished.
• Maintain a consistent housekeeping schedule to ensure the entire residence receives appropriate daily, weekly, and detailed attention.
• Assist with general household needs related to maintaining a clean, organized, and well-run home.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced private housekeeper who understands the standards and discretion required when working in a formal private residence. They should be meticulous, organized, proactive, and capable of independently managing the housekeeping needs of a 4,000-square-foot home.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, laundry and linen care, ironing, organization, and the appropriate care of fine furnishings and household surfaces. The family is looking for someone dependable and professional who notices what needs to be done without requiring extensive direction.

There are two dogs in the home, so candidates must be comfortable working around pets. There are no children in the house currently.

This is a live-out position, and candidates should be able to reliably commute to Bellevue. The position is paid through the family's office and includes a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits for the right long-term candidate.
