The Role
- Serve as the clinical leader while maintaining an active caseload across small animals, exotics, and large animals, including wellness, dentistry, advanced surgery, and urgent/emergency care.
- Set and uphold medical quality standards; champion patient safety and client service.
- Mentor, coach, and support associate veterinarians through case reviews, feedback, and professional development.
- Lead regular doctor meetings to align protocols, review cases, and elevate medical consistency.
- Partner with the Practice Manager on scheduling, workflow optimization, inventory, and operational priorities.
- Ensure thorough medical record-keeping and appropriate charging practices.
- Oversee proper use, maintenance, and compliance of medical equipment; ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the responsible veterinarian for controlled substances management and radiation safety compliance.
- Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and community outreach.
- Contribute to the seven-day urgent care model with scheduled weekend coverage; specific scheduling will be discussed during interviews.

Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Active Nevada veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- USDA accreditation (or eligibility) preferred
- Proven clinical proficiency; mixed-animal and urgent care experience desirable
- Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
- Excellent communication, time-management, and team-collaboration skills
- Authorization to work in the United States
