Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individual needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and emergency care procedures.

Schedule

This position requires a commitment to working 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend, with holiday shifts as needed.

Experience Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an emergency room setting.

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke certification
• PALS certification
• TNCC or TNS certification

Additional Requirements

Candidates must have passed an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to the first day of work. Epic experience is highly preferred, as the emergency room conducts a high volume of patient interactions.

Patient Demographics

The emergency room services a diverse population with a significant focus on elderly patients, including pediatric cases. It is recognized as a Level II trauma center.
