Math Tutor

Math Tutor Location: UNG - Gainesville Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 299763 Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Math Tutor. The Math Tutor will tutor all levels of math and statistics offered by the University and assist students and faculty with all services provided by the ACTT Center. Responsibilities Tutor all levels of math and statistics offered by the University. Demonstrate the use of calculators, both graphing and non-graphing, and any software used in the math and statistics courses. Assist with the general operation of the ACTT Center: check books and other materials in/out, monitor makeup tests, and provide general information. Assist in compiling end-of-semester statistical reports and data needed for the Annual Report. Participate in appropriate professional development activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration. Required Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Math or Math Education. Two years of tutoring experience. Must have experience with Microsoft software and graphing calculators.
