UX Researcher

Seeking a hands-on UX Researcher to support a digital product and technology team developing experiences for students and educators. This role will conduct rapid, iterative research on early concepts and prototypes, helping teams understand user needs, validate assumptions, and make informed product decisions before significant development investment.

The ideal candidate can independently own research from initial question through execution and recommendations while partnering closely with product, design, content, and technology teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Own UX research from planning and methodology selection through execution, synthesis, and recommendations
• Conduct rapid concept testing, prototype testing, moderated usability studies, interviews, surveys, and A/B testing
• Partner with product, design, content, engineering, and technology teams to identify research questions and priorities
• Develop research plans, discussion guides, participant criteria, and testing materials
• Conduct research with students, educators, and other relevant user groups
• Identify user needs, behaviors, motivations, pain points, and barriers
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations that inform product and technology decisions
• Present findings to stakeholders and facilitate discussions around next steps
• Balance research rigor with speed in a highly iterative product environment

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of UX Research, User Research, or closely related experience
• Strong hands-on experience with qualitative UX research, moderated usability testing, and user interviews
• Experience with rapid concept and prototype testing
• Ability to independently select appropriate research methodologies and own studies end-to-end
• Experience synthesizing findings into actionable product recommendations
• Strong collaboration experience with product, design, engineering, and technology teams
• Ability to work independently through ambiguity and move quickly in an iterative environment
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• K–12, EdTech, digital learning, literacy, or educational publishing experience
• Experience researching students, teachers, or other specialized user populations
• Experience with surveys, A/B testing, and mixed-method research
• Familiarity with Qualtrics, UserTesting.com, Figma, FigJam, Miro, or similar tools
• Background in psychology, human behavior, HCI, research, or design
• Product/UX design fluency and experience collaborating closely with technology teams
