This role is for someone who wants to grow alongside a portfolio of $500K+/mo brands and help launch the next ones. The Role The short-form video editor is a full-time, on-site role based in West Hollywood, CA. You must have a deep understanding of viral video mechanics, storytelling principles, and direct response fundamentals. You should know what immediately hooks an audience, keeps them watching, and convinces them to buy a product. What You'll Do Edit short-form videos weekly for Meta/TikTok ads Turn creative briefs and raw footage into compelling ads for social media Review performance data and retention graphs, then apply what you learn to the next edit Work with creative strategist and founders Qualifications 3-5 years of short-form video editing experience in organic social media or paid ads Has edited viral organic videos or ads for consumer products that generated measurable sales Deep portfolio of work for employers/clients and your own spec work (bonus points if you run your own social media account) Expert in short-form video editing tools like CapCut or Premiere Pro Great eye and ear that can quickly spot the clips, music, and effects that will breathe life into a creative brief Prioritizes the emotion, story, and rhythm of an edit over its visual aesthetic Firm grasp of story structure, ad structure, and the psychology of attention Can pull insights from analytics, interpret a retention graph, and improve their next edit with data-informed decisions Strong business acumen and an even stronger interest in the DTC/e-commerce industry Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative rationale to team members Bonus: proficient in AI video tools like Higgsfield and ElevenLabs Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
