Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (required—please confirm status through the Michigan Department of Education)
• Experience or relevant training supporting Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
• Comfortable working onsite or via virtual classroom technology

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction for K-12 students with hearing differences, utilizing evidence-based strategies
• Develop, implement, and monitor progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student access and participation
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and federal educational guidelines
• Provide consultative support and resources to staff and families
• Engage with students for 10 hours each week throughout the school year
