Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the mechanical maintenance and repair of the Greensboro Complex, Greensboro Aquatic Center, and Tanger Center buildings, facilities, and fixtures. This position performs routine tasks and duties including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and mechanical repair work.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $25.00-$30.00.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain and repair facilities and buildings, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and mechanical work.
• Install electrical power, internet, and a variety of other needs as requested during show setup and the event.
• Install, adjust, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
• Install, repair, and replace electrical lighting systems; plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets, and pipes; light bulbs; ballasts; and lights; and clear any obstructions from water and sewer lines.
• Drive company vehicles to procure supplies and materials from local vendors and operate utility/golf carts to perform maintenance activities across a multi-venue campus, including nine venues and the Tanger Center.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of mechanical repair experience.
• Associates degree in Mechanics or Trade Certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Previous experience performing maintenance work within sports & entertainment facilities is highly desired.
