Job Description - CAMS Sustainability Internship (20097526) (260004H9) Organization Rehabilitation & Correction - Operation Support Center Work Location DRC Central Office — Fran-ODOT 1980 West Broad Street, Columbus, 43223 Primary Location United States of America – OHIO – Franklin County – Columbus Compensation $16.44 – $20.00 per hour Schedule Part‑time (8–16 hours per week) Primary Job Skill Construction Maintenance Technical Skills Data Analytics, Grant Writing, Communications, Environmental Services, Research Professional Skills Attention to Detail, Managing Meetings, Organizing and Planning, Responsiveness Job Overview The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented intern to join our Energy Conservation and Sustainability team. This internship provides hands‑on experience supporting agency‑wide sustainability efforts across 25 state‑run institutions. Responsibilities Collect, organize, and analyze data to support sustainability reporting Conduct research and benchmark against peer organizations Assist with the development of sustainability plans, reports, and presentations Communicate with internal and external staff, partners, and stakeholders Maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and organized documentation Support the Energy Conservation & Sustainability Administrator, Recycling & Compost Coordinator, and Data Analytics Specialist with day‑to‑day tasks Take notes and prepare materials for recurring meetings Track sustainability metrics through JadeTrack, RTS, and other data platforms Assist with Environmental Literacy education platform tracking, communication, training, and improvements Create institution‑specific reports to enhance communication and transparency Support sustainability project planning, management, and implementation efforts Research grant opportunities, prepare application materials, and present findings that align with departmental mission and vision Participate in Green Team activities and support sustainability‑related programming for incarcerated individuals Prepare quarterly sustainability newsletters and monthly Green Team challenges Assist with and attend Sustainability Advisory Committee meetings Conduct waste audits at institutions and collaborate with the Recycling Coordinator to improve waste‑diversion efforts Travel may be required to institutions across the state Qualifications Must be enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing (2 years completed and above preferred) Construction, Engineering, Business, or Information Technology major; knowledge of TechNet or SQL queries a plus Construction/maintenance experience preferred Ability to collect, analyze, and present research data Independent worker requiring little guidance Experience working with Microsoft Office Must provide transcripts, current fee statement, or class schedule for verification Additional Information The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is a tobacco‑free workplace.
