Speech Language Pathologist

As a staff member providing clinical expertise you will be responsible for providing excellence in patient care, collaborative and comprehensive care based on patient and/or family needs, and quality and efficient services. He/she will develop and implementing patient treatment programs, exhibiting the ability to design treatment programs for patients with varying degrees/types of disabilities and multiple medical problems. Performs professional procedures which meet the standards of the profession and changing needs of the patient. Additionally, you will assist clients with speech, language, or swallowing impairments Staff will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SWHS Core Values and the hospitals mission statement. Employee may be required to float to the other facility within Southwest Health Rancho Springs and Inland Valley Hospital based on operational needs, with appropriate orientation and competency validation provided.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Prior work experience in the acute hospital setting preferred.
• Experience in diagnosing and treating swallow disorders.
• Ability to analyze test results to determine patients' communicative abilities and to determine necessary therapy.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

• Completion of Master's or Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

• License to practice speech pathology by the California State Board of Medical Examiners is required or a RPE/CFY applicant supervised by licensed Speech Pathologist following State and ASHA guidelines.
• Current BLS Certificate required.
• Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA) required for supervisor of graduate student or RPE/CFY applicant
