POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safety Trainer I is responsible for delivering top quality training programs to internal and external clients as well as being a resource with regards to general safety matters. This position
supports the organization as a safety resource and subject matter expert. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
· All methods of Respirator Fit Testing
· CPR/ Medic First Aid Training
· Some Basic Specialized Training
· Conducting monthly safety meetings
· Maintaining all necessary course documentation
· Creating Sales Orders and/or Cash Receipts
Monday through Friday position with rotating weekends
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Associates Degree or higher preferred.
· 1-year industry experience
· Experience with H2S training & Respirator Fit Testing a plus
· Ability to speak in front of large groups
· Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by company policy
· An attitude of professionalism and excellence
· Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and safety instructions)
· Must understand and follow all safety policies and apply good safety practices while working
· Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme outside weather
conditions. The job activities will require the employee to work-in an office/classroom environment and/or at customer job site locations 100% of the time. The position also
requires operating a company vehicle to and form customer sites that can exceed 250 miles.
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours (80-90 hours per week) with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift/carry 100 lbs. frequently floor to knuckle and floor to shoulder. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel to perform maintenance on the equipment.
