Physician Assistant (FT Days) Critical Care - RWJUH Somerset Job ID: 1139795 Job Summary The APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient care through collaboration with the Physician for Critical Care patients. The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Essential Functions Provides comprehensive critical care services to patients in the ICU and IMCU including assessment, diagnosis and management of complex high acuity conditions Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates effective time management Demonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care within a critical care environment Demonstrates the ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care Participates in multidisciplinary rounds care planning and family discussions Performs appropriate interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic testing Performs and/or assists with invasive and noninvasive procedures in accordance with hospital privileges and scope of practice Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary Job Requirements APN or PA Acute care certification preferred 1–2 years acute care hospital experience preferred Current APN or PA certification Current NJ state license CDS and DEA Current BLS and ACLS required Job Details Job Title: Physician Assistant Location: Rutgers University Medical Group Department Name: Critical Care APPs RWJSH Req #: 0000238270 Status: Salaried Shift: Day Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
