Business Analyst

DescriptionKforce has a client that is seeking a Business Analyst in New York, NY.Key Responsibilities:* Partner with business SMEs and project stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements* Translate business needs into clear feature requirements and acceptance criteria* Support source-to-target data mapping between legacy financial-services systems and the new platform* Analyze legacy datasets and help determine how business information should map into the target environment* Use SQL and data analysis techniques as needed to understand, validate, and support mapping activities* Document business processes, requirements, dependencies, assumptions, and issues* Collaborate with solution analysts who will translate business requirements into more detailed technical specifications* Work across multiple integration points involving APIs, files, and batch processes* Participate in stakeholder and project meetings and proactively surface questions, risks, and gaps* Maintain project documentation within Jira, Confluence, and Excel* Collaborate with PMs, product owners, workstream leads, solution analysts, and technical teams throughout the conversion* Gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements and traceability* Facilitating stakeholder workshops and identifying risks, issues, and dependencies* Translating business needs into functional requirements and actionable deliverables* Conducting fit-for-purpose gap analyses between business requirements and vendor platform capabilities* Developing user stories, process flows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and related documentation* Supporting data mapping, testing, defect resolution, and business validation activities* Serving as a liaison between business stakeholders, platform vendors, third-party vendors, and delivery teams to ensure alignment throughout the implementation lifecycleRequirements* The ideal candidate is a hands-on BA who understands data, rather than a technical data professional who happens to have requirements experience* The strongest candidate will likely have 3-5 years of post-college experience and come from a financial-services environment where they have worked on requirements, system conversions, data mapping, or platform implementations* Direct trust migration experience is highly desirable but not required; Someone with strong wealth or investment-management domain knowledge combined with BA and source-to-target mapping experience should still be consideredJob TypeContractCompensation40 - $65
