Assistant Project Manager

Location: Syracuse, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site with frequent travel to job sites Overview A construction and project management firm is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support its Project Management team. This role provides hands-on training and exposure to every phase of a project, from preconstruction through groundbreaking and final completion, helping ensure high-quality delivery and strong client satisfaction. What you'll do Support the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager in the daily management, coordination, and successful completion of assigned projects Travel to job-sites frequently for personnel and job management, progress review, quality control, and project management administration Assist in maintaining working relationships with clients, consultants, and other project team agencies Assist with procurement of materials, services, contracts, and supplies for projects in progress Assist with distributing scope-of-work assignments to subcontractors and vendors Support the subcontract creation process and subcontractor change order process Assist with overall project accounting, including contract change order summations and tracking Participate in project accounting updates, approvals, and cost administration and tracking processes Coordinate all project team members and maintain project schedules Maintain project communication hierarchy and protocol between team members Review project progress in the field and support quality control efforts Assist in scheduling and attending job meetings as needed Assist in creating and participating in project closeout procedures Review project submittals and administer the overall timeline, procurement, and approval process with project stakeholders Maintain logs and records for submittals and manage submittal distribution Maintain a closeout list for each project, procure all closeout items, and compile and transmit closeout documentation to the appropriate stakeholders Required qualifications Ability to travel to job-sites frequently for project management and quality control activities Working knowledge of project accounting processes, including contract change order tracking Understanding of subcontractor and vendor procurement and scope-of-work coordination Familiarity with project closeout requirements, including submittal tracking and documentation compilation Strong organizational skills to maintain project schedules, communication protocols, and recordkeeping Why this role This position offers structured training that prepares you to support Project Managers across the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout, with direct involvement in client relationships, procurement, and quality control. #J-18808-Ljbffr
