Senior Accountant

Job Title

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for a variety of general accounting duties
• Own the allocation of expenses to business units
• Perform mass uploads of data from subsystems to the general ledger
• Analyze expenses
• Manage the preparation and posting of journal entries
• Compile and analyze schedules for internal purposes and financial audits
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, research variances and determine appropriate resolution
• Respond to and resolve all internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
• Ensure business controls are followed and operating as designed
• Other finance/accounting responsibilities will be assigned as needed

• Strong analytical skills, ability to propose resolutions to problems
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Have strong working knowledge of accounting theories and practices and the ability to understand the relationship between operational processes and accounting impacts
• Must stay current on accounting practices – Must attend a minimum of 6 CPE classes per year.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees throughout all levels of the organization
• Team player and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
• Must be detail-oriented and a self-starter

• Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong to Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of Great Plains or SAP preferred
• CPA preferred
