Your future role at a glance Location: Chicago, IL Facility: Ascension Saint Joseph Department: Medical Surgical Schedule: Day shift | Part-time Salary range: $45.30 - 63.95 per hour How you'll make an impact in this role Direct daily med-surg operations, coordinate shift staffing, and manage resources to meet productivity standards while balancing unit patient-physician dynamics. Evaluate daily patient needs to delegate population-appropriate assignments, monitor nursing/support staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality patient care. Mentor and educate nursing staff, provide input on hiring and performance evaluations, and foster professional development across assigned shifts. Oversee compliance with clinical objectives, resolve patient care complaints through established channels, and justify unit productivity variances to leadership. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required. What additional requirements you'll need Must have one year RN medical surgical experience.
