Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a meaningful opportunity as a full-time contract Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year at a vibrant K-12 alternative school. The focus of this role is serving students with mild to moderate needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive educational community.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for a Colorado Special Education License (Mild/Moderate).
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Prior experience with students with mild/moderate disabilities preferred.
- Expertise with special education compliance, case management, and progress monitoring.
- Previous work in K-12 settings and alternative or therapeutic environments is a plus.
- Experience applying PBIS, MTSS, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Functional Behavior Assessments is valuable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to confidently manage classrooms and partner with general education colleagues, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering tailored instruction and accommodations for students with diverse learning profiles.
- Leading IEP development, documentation, and case management to ensure regulatory compliance and student progress.
- Implementing behavioral supports and proactive intervention strategies as needed.
- Facilitating ongoing assessment, participating in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborating to maintain an inclusive, structured environment that nurtures student growth, independence, and resilience.
- Remaining current with IDEA, Colorado special education regulations, and school policies.
This contract begins August 17, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar. Hours are full-time, onsite during standard school hours. The caseload will consist of K-12 students and details will be provided upon confirmation from the district.
