Safety-Conscious Equipment Operator

We are currently seeking experienced safety-conscious equipment operators to join the team at Post Oak Landfill in Luling, TX. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

The position is a day shift working Monday through Friday with a start time of 6am-5-6pm with occasional Saturdays working 45-55 hours a week.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance around the site and facilities as needed
• Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
• Spreading daily cover using a dozer
• Excavating soil using an excavator
• Hauling soil

Working conditions and physical effort:

• The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

Minimum job requirements:

• Experience driving forklift, dozer, or articulated dump truck preferred
• Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility
• Must become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required personal protection equipment (PPE)
• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
• MUST BE ABLE TO OPERATE A D6 OR BIGGER
