Mill Material Handler

divh2Mill Material Handler/h2pAtlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for a Mill Material Handler at our North Kansas City, MO location. This role is responsible for supplying materials needed to run the Slitter while ensuring efficiency and organization in material handling. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are critical for success./ppShift: 3rd Shift 7 PM 5:30 AM/ppWhat Youll Do/pulliEnsures the mill bay has all required raw materials for the current operation./liliLoads and unloads the Slitter efficiently to maintain smooth operations./liliAssists the Slitter crew during changeovers./liliMaintains and organizes coil inventory./liliSeparates heat numbers together within designated bay areas and inspects coils for defects./liliAssists the coil yard attendant in unloading coils from trucks, off-rolling equipment, or rail./liliEmpties scrap bins into dumpsters as needed./liliOversees scrap truck replacements when dumpsters are swapped./liliUtilizes chains and slings properly for lifting different weights./liliPerforms daily inspections of cranes, chains, slings, and related equipment./liliMaintains a clean and organized work area, truck drive, and desk space./liliCompletes OJT JSA training successfully./liliTrains others for the position and cross-trains in other areas as needed./liliComplies with Atlas Tube policies and OSHA regulations, including Lock Out ~ Tag Out./liliAttends all scheduled company and safety meetings./liliFollows and enforces company safety policies and procedures./liliDemonstrates teamwork and cooperation with colleagues and supervisors./liliSubmits detailed and accurate work orders for equipment issues that cannot be resolved by the operator or team./li/ulpWho You Are/pulliSufficient reading and writing abilities to perform essential duties./liliStrong verbal and written communication skills./liliSelf-motivated and detail-oriented./liliAbility to read, interpret, and use micrometers./liliBasic mechanical aptitude./liliStrong safety orientation./liliSpatial ability and organizational skills./liliAchievement-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility./liliEffective teamwork and persistence in problem-solving./li/ulpPhysical Work Requirements/pulliPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times./liliUse of hand tools and equipment as needed./liliOccasional overtime./liliWarehouse environment with an uncontrolled climate year-round./liliDusty and noisy work conditions within OSHA guidelines./liliRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts./liliPosition requires excessive walking./li/ulpWhat Youll Get Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
