Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL. Work Schedule: Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" with variable start and end times. Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. One or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience, or an MLS degree and FL Medical Technologist (MT) license. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Familiarity with laboratory information systems. Proficient with computers. High level of attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. Preferred Qualifications ASCP or AMT certification. Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may satisfy the education requirement. Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k).
