Shipyard General Laborer / Trades Helper

Location: Everett, WA

Job Description

This role supports ship repair and marine projects by performing a variety of general labor and trade helper tasks. You will assist skilled tradespeople with electrical work, cable pulling, and general marine repair activities in shipyard, shop, and onboard ship environments. This is a hands-on position that requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions and work safely in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespeople with general labor tasks in support of ship repair and marine projects.
• Support cable pulling activities, including routing, organizing, and handling cables under direction.
• Help with basic electrical-related tasks as directed by qualified personnel, such as preparing work areas and handling materials.
• Perform general cleanup of work areas, including removing debris, organizing tools, and maintaining a safe and orderly workspace
• Move, load, and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed around the yard, shop, and ships
• Follow instructions from supervisors and trades personnel
• Work safely in shipyard, shop, and onboard ship environments, adhering to all safety guidelines and using required protective equipment
• Assist with basic marine and ship repair tasks such as holding, positioning, or securing parts and materials for tradespeople

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general labor or trades helper duties in an industrial or construction environment.
• Ability to assist with cable pulling and basic electrical support tasks under supervision.
• Capability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, standing, and working in varied conditions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently.
• Strong awareness of safety practices in industrial, shipyard, or marine repair environments.
• Reliability and punctuality to support project schedules and team needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Everett, WA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
