Warehouse Specialist

Job Location: House of Schwan, Inc. - Wichita, KS 67226 Position Type: Full Time The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Job Summary Under general supervision, performs manual labor and uses mechanical equipment to move, load, and unload product. Performs related work, general maintenance, and custodial duties as required. Major Responsibilities and Duties Load, unload, and relocate products. Verify all counts are accurate when loading or unloading products. Properly use radio frequency to check products into and out of the inventory. Understand and adhere to A-B quality control standards and product handling guidelines. Rotate and combine product in the warehouse as appropriate, stacking or palletizing items according to product type and code date. Repair breakage in re-pack room and return as much saleable product to stock as possible. Perform continuous cleaning, painting, and minor repairs to warehouse, building, and outside areas. Wash company vehicles as needed. Complete regular maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required to maintain safe operating conditions. Safe operation of forklifts, pallet riders, floor scrubber, and all other equipment. Responsible to know, understand, and adhere to OSHA guidelines. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Required Ability to read and write and to follow oral and written instructions. Basic mathematical, problem solving, and time management skills. Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, and reach overhead frequently. Ability to safely operate and control mechanical equipment; such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, etc., this includes filling and emptying tanks on the floor scrubber. Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Education and/or Experience No educational requirements. Forklift experience is desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Powered Industrial Truck training and certification. Ability to obtain a valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is desired. Physical Demands Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting of objects up to 160 pounds, pushing, and pulling required of objects up to 340 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. Work Environment Exposure to: heat, cold, rain, wind, ice, snow, and various other weather conditions due to work being performed both inside and outside the building.
