Experienced Medicare & Individual Health Insurance Agent

The Opportunity

Your Insurance Gal Agency, an established independent insurance agency serving Vancouver and Clark County — and a Best of Clark County winner and finalist — is hiring an experienced licensed agent for the upcoming Medicare Annual Enrollment Period and ACA Open Enrollment season.

This is a full-time seasonal seat at a busy local agency with a warm, established book of business. You'll spend enrollment season writing business and serving clients — not cold calling from a script in a call center. For the right person, hours and a continued role beyond January 15 are negotiable.

What You'll Do

• Serve existing agency clients and inbound prospects during AEP (Oct 15 – Dec 7) and ACA Open Enrollment (Nov 1 – Jan 15)
• Conduct needs-based reviews and enroll clients in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D, and individual/family ACA health plans
• Quote and write disability and supplemental coverage where appropriate
• Document all client interactions in compliance with CMS marketing guidelines and Washington OIC requirements
• Work on-site in our Vancouver office (some flexibility available)

What You'll Need

Required:

• Active Washington resident or non-resident insurance license with Life and Disability lines of authority, in good standing (license will be verified through the WA Office of the Insurance Commissioner)
• Current AHIP certification for the 2027 plan year, completed or in progress at time of application
• Minimum 1 year of Medicare and/or ACA enrollment experience
• Ability to start by mid-September 2026 and commit full-time through January 15, 2027
• For 1099 applicants: current E&O coverage (or willingness to obtain before start)

Strongly preferred:

• Existing carrier certifications for major Medicare Advantage carriers in the WA/OR market
• Experience with individual ACA marketplace enrollments (Washington Healthplanfinder)
• Local to the Vancouver/Portland metro area

Compensation & Structure

• $55,000 base salary (W-2)
• Per-application production bonuses paid on Medicare and ACA enrollments written during AEP/OEP — realistic total first-year earnings of $62,000–$72,000 for a productive enrollment season
• Benefits package for W-2 employees, including [health insurance / PTO / other — confirm specifics]
• 1099 independent contractor arrangement also available with commission-based structure for candidates who prefer it
• Clear, written producer agreement with defined terms from day one
• Potential for ongoing part-time or full-time work after January 15 for the right fit
