Job Description
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Direct patient care, care for patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, neuro devises such as bolt + EUD, air way management

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Cerner documentation, iStat, NxStage CRRT, barcode scanning

Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years ICU experience, Care of critically ill adult population: medicine, trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery account for most of the patients

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS, ACLS
Active TN or compact license
TNCC preferred

Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
12 hour shifts - no call

Unit Description
I.JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse assesses patients psychological and spiritual needs; contributes to the individualized patient care and coordinates plan of care with physician and Health Care Team; implements the plan of patient care and evaluates the outcome of patient care, offering quality patient care for patients of all age groups.

II.RELATIONSHIPS
Service Director of Immediate Unit.

III.QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Successful completion of Pharmacological Examination.
• Minimum of one-year recent experience in clinical area for position
• Proof of CPR participation and ACLS
• Demonstrates evidence of knowledge and ability to use recognized channels of communication and understands the English language.
• Knowledgeable of new trends and developments in the field of nursing.
• Ability to respond to on-the-job-training.

IV.TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs in order to retrieve patient care supplies and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Must be able to work rapidly, under pressure, without a break for up to 4 hours to maintain schedule
