Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Specific duties and responsibilities include: Triage and treat minor work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses. Dispense medications in accordance with standing orders. Provide on-site specimen/lab collection. Perform urine drug screening and breath alcohol testing. Provide onsite assessment for various conditions. Support and case management for work-related and non-work-related conditions. Coordinate second opinions for employees absent due to workers' compensation or disability. Coordinate annual influenza vaccination program. Plan health education seminars and wellness events. Provide patient education regarding illnesses and treatments. Collaborate with patients and their PCP/Specialist for early diagnosis and management. Maintain clinical supplies and patient medical records. Work collaboratively with Mack Truck/Volvo teams for health and wellness initiatives. Provide crisis management/intervention. Offer general medical advice to Human Resources and Safety/Risk Management departments. Ensure prompt, appropriate clinical care to all patients. Develop relationships with clinical providers for backup care. Ensure timely problem resolution and follow-up with employees. Maintain neat, clean, and attractive clinic facilities. Conduct yourself in an exemplary fashion to achieve goals.

Minimum qualifications include: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program. Registered/licensed by the State of Pennsylvania Board of Physicians/Board of Nursing. National Board Certification. Minimum 2 years related experience in adult medicine.

Preferred qualifications include: Experience in Occupational Medicine, Workers' Compensation, DOT exams.

Special knowledge, skills, and abilities include: Analytical ability to evaluate and determine patient health status and implement proper care. Interpersonal skills to interview, teach, and counsel patients and interact with clients/employers. Comprehensive understanding of outpatient adult medicine, patient care procedures, medical protocols, and testing procedures.

Technical qualifications or specialized certifications include: DOT Medical Examiner preferred. Certified Urine Drug Screen Collector preferred. Certified Breath Alcohol Technician preferred.
