Software Engineer This role follows a hybrid work model, with in-office attendance expected 2-3 times a week in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, Richardson, TX or Austin, TX. Your Impact As Software Engineer on the team, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions across diverse cloud-native and on-premises environments. In this role, you will own the technical lifecycle of complex projects, prioritizing secure coding practices, user privacy, and exceptional UX to drive high-quality outcomes. You will also integrate advanced AI-enabled frameworks and development tools to accelerate product capabilities and streamline your daily workflow. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors + 5 years of related experience, or Masters + 3 years of related experience, or PhD + 0 years of related experience Experience working with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), and on-premises environments Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable solutions using Python Experience with AI/ML frameworks, generative AI, and large language models Lead end-to-end delivery on projects, leveraging experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and secure coding practices Preferred Qualifications Experience programming in Node.js Experience in AI governance, and artificial intelligence compliance, complemented by hands-on experience in prompt engineering and generative AI proficiency to meet business objectives Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform), and network automation Clear communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams Why Cisco? Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
