Job Category Lead Medical Scribe Employee Type Non-Exempt FT Required Degree 4 Year Degree Manage Others Yes Contact information Name Human Resources Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io Description Oversees the team of medical scribes, manages shift scheduling, trains new hires and assists physicians with real-time electronic health record (EHR) patient documentation. Essential Functions: Provides ongoing education and performs the competency assessment for the scribes. Create and post schedules for Medical Scribe I & II. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of the medical chart under the supervision of the medical provider. Reviews and identifies medical record documentation for medical provider(s). Accompanying the medical provider during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation directly into the electronic medical record system (EMR). Alerting medical provider to patients waiting to be seen. Assisting with communication between medical provider and other medical staff members. Tracking laboratory and imaging studies to alert medical provider when resulted. Ensuring medical record compliance by documenting an attestation to include: Scribe name, title and medical provider working with as well as specific date and time entry. Preparing all documentation for medical provider's final review and signature. Compliance with hospital policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission. Assists with departmental orientation, on the job training and ongoing education. Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Medical Scribe Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned.
