This role works extensively with SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, pad-mount and GSU transformers, grounding systems, instrument transformers, and a variety of manual and motor-operated switches. The technician leads and implements safety policies on job sites, performs advanced electrical testing, and provides detailed technical documentation while interacting directly with customers and supporting the development of other technicians.

The role requires comfort working outdoors and indoors in varying weather and facility conditions, as well as frequent driving between sites. Technicians usually work standard full-time hours with an additional 5-10 hours of overtime per week, depending on project demands. The company provides a field-focused support structure, including a company vehicle and gas card, company card for hotels, per diem when traveling, and a company-issued cellphone and laptop. The organization invests in safety and professional development, offering 2-3 NETA certification training and preparation classes per year, along with financial incentives for achieving NETA Level II, III, and IV accreditations. The company also supports field comfort and safety with annual allowances for work boots, prescription safety goggles, and fire-retardant clothing.
