About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ year of Stepdown experience License: Michigan nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Proficiency in Cardiac required Comfortable with EKG required Must be willing to float to similar units required Travel required Description: The Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the unit that cares for a significant volume of cardiology patients annually, performing procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Approximately 300 open heart surgery patients are discharged from this unit after 18-24 hours post-op. The unit also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies. The research department manages many national clinical trials using this unit. The unit has been awarded a Silver level Beacon Award, representing significant milestones on the journey to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care. The leadership, medical staff, and colleagues work together as a team to demonstrate top performance in care, efficiency, and community value. A strict attendance policy has been implemented, where any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift three times will be terminated immediately. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization with supporting evidence will be reviewed in favor of the contractor. A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required. Physical copies of certifications are required only if listed above. Full-time employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
