Cusdial/Maintenance PositionAnticipated position for 2026-2027 SY Custodial/Maintenance Position Full-time/ 12-Month Position DistrictwideQualifications:Valid New Jersey Black Seal Low-Pressure Boiler Operator's License required.Working knowledge and demonstrated experience in building maintenance and repair, including HVAC systems (automated and mechanical), carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.Ability to read, write, understand instructions, and communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and vendors.Ability to meet the physical demands of the position and successfully complete any required pre-employment physical examination.Minimum of three (3) years of custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience in a school or similar institutional setting preferred.Relevant trade certifications and/or current professional licenses are preferred and will be recognized.Knowledge of applicable workplace and school safety procedures, including Hazard Communication/Right-to-Know, silica exposure, asbestos awareness/AHERA, bloodborne pathogens, chemical safety, indoor air quality, and integrated pest management.Working knowledge of fire safety systems, equipment, and related operating procedures.Experience with snow and ice removal, including the safe operation of applicable equipment.Ability to safely operate custodial and maintenance tools, machinery, and equipment associated with the position.Ability to work independently and collaboratively and to respond appropriately to routine maintenance needs and emergency situations.A required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.Reports To: Supervisor of Buildings and GroundsTerms: 12-month position. Step 01 rate per the contract: $40,500, or other rate commensurate with experience. Full benefits package included.
