Salary: Pay Based on Experience

RKE Contractors is looking to hire a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to work on a Heavy Civil Federal project in Muskogee, OK.

Job Type:Full-Time, In-Person

Pay:Pay is Based on Experience

Job Tasks:

The SSHOs job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Creating site-specific documents required by EM 385-1-1, including Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and an Accident Prevention Program (APP)
Working with the Project Manager(s) to make sure the APP and AHAs are implemented and continuously monitored
Developing new safety policies and modifying the site safety and health plan as needed
Organizing safety training for all personnel (e.g., new employee orientation, refresher training, and toolbox talks)
Ensuring that all on-site activity complies with all applicable regulations, requirements, and standards (e.g., OSHA, EM 385-1-1, company policy, and insurance requirements)
Conducting regular site inspections, recording violations, and remediating non-compliance
Coordinating emergency responses and interfacing with medical personnel
Investigating incidents involving personal injury, property damage, safety violations, or unsafe working conditions
Completing all reports, documentation, and paperwork related to the above

SSHO Requirements:

The SSHO must have completed the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Outreach class within the past five (5) years and:
- Seven (7) years of construction industry safety relatedexperience.
- OR have a safety and health degree from an accrediteduniversity or college and five (5) years of constructionindustry safety related experience
- OR hold as current, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification and five (5) years of construction industry safety related experience.

SSHO Training Requirements (Must Provide Proof of Completion):

OSHA 30 Construction within the past five years
