Role:

A growing professional services organization is seeking a Tax Advisory Director to lead complex tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and family offices.

This role combines technical tax expertise, client advisory, team leadership, and business management. The successful candidate will oversee client relationships and engagement delivery while developing tax strategies, mentoring professionals, and helping grow the practice.

Responsibilities:

• Lead tax advisory and compliance engagements for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and closely held businesses.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on tax planning, entity structure, transactions, and wealth-related matters.
• Review complex federal, state, and local tax matters involving partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and multi-entity structures.
• Oversee engagement quality, deadlines, profitability, and overall client service.
• Manage and develop Managers and Senior Managers while mentoring high-potential tax professionals.
• Partner with firm leadership on client development, engagement economics, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes through technology, analytics, and workflow enhancements.
• Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Support business growth through relationship development and expansion of existing client engagements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
• CPA or EA required.
• 9+ years of progressive tax experience.
• Strong experience with high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and complex entity structures.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation.
• Experience with partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and related tax planning.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage sophisticated client relationships.
• Big 4 or large regional accounting/advisory firm experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with business transactions, M&A, restructuring, or other complex tax advisory matters is a plus

Compensation:

A competitive compensation package will be available for this position including a base salary, annual bonus upwards of 20-30%, as well as a GREAT medical, dental, vision, wellness, a GREAT 401K, vacation and sick time, paid holidays, floating holidays, etc.

Working Situation:

This is in the office 4 days a week Monday through Thursday with Fridays being work from home.
