About the Company
Small, reputable construction litigation law firm located in N. Dallas seeks 2-7 year attorney with strong litigation skills. The firm has a strong client base of construction companies and they are looking to add an associate who will appreciate what they have to offer. This is a group of people who do quality work but do not live to work.
Although they do most of their work in-office, they are not clock watchers and they treat their employees like adults, for lack of a better term. They pay fair (up to 175k) plus they pay 100% of health insurance premiums for employees and covered parking is paid also. They do offer a 401k plan as well.
They are a true "lifestyle" firm.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a caseload of defense matters and work closely with experienced trial attorneys while developing trial skills and taking ownership of cases. CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and case evaluations
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend and argue hearings, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients
- Work with partners on litigation strategy, case development, and firm growth
- Take ownership of your cases
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing
- 2-7 years of civil litigation or construction litigation defense experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines
