Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Jacksonville, Illinois. This role provides critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced ICU setting, with a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. The position requires expertise in advanced monitoring and life-support interventions, including dysrhythmia management, ventilator care, and specialized infusion therapies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights (19000730) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU nursing experience; active Illinois (IL) RN license required to apply; certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); experience/skills required include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, caring for patients with multisystem organ failure, obtaining 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG), proficiency with intravenous (IV) insulin protocols, and chronic or acute renal failure experience. Additional required IV/vascular and medication skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medication administration, titrating cardiac drips, and titrating vasoactive drips. Required respiratory/airway skills include assisting with Bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP), assisting with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) support, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), suctioning (endotracheal tube [ETT], nasotracheal [NT]), and ventilator management. Infection prevention and isolation precautions/Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) experience is required, along with experience related to surgical wounds with drains/wound vacs.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Additional Information: First-timers accepted. Weekend coverage is required on an every-other-weekend basis. Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs. Block schedule requests may be discussed with the manager. Flu vaccination is required (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must provide 23 interview times upon submission. Candidates must have documentation of required certifications at submission (American Heart Association (AHA) and Red Cross only; Rapid Quality Initiative (RQI) cards not accepted). Charting experience is position specific to Cerner.
