Work with a dedicated and caring organization and start doing your life's best work Florida State Hospital: Registered Nurse (778476) Pay rate : $62.00 per hour. Location: FL DOH Chattahoochee 100 N. Main St, Chattahoochee, FL 32324 Job Summary This is a State of Florida Psychiatric Hospital which operates 24/7, 7 days a week. It currently has 223 buildings on campus with a capacity of 1,334 patients. Some patients as young as 13 yrs old. The hospital's current Administration Building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Hours 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am (30-minute unpaid lunch). This facility operates 24/7. Candidate may be required to work 16-hour shift as needed. Note Candidates will need to attend a one-week orientation, working Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm in classroom then one week shadowing DCF nurses. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire. Must hold unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse. One year of acute care or two years of clinical nursing experience. Must be CPR certified, or able to complete training. Must be able to complete full orientation at time of hire. Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of position including ability to lift and carry 20 lbs., remain alert while on duty, and work 16-hour shifts on occasion. Duties Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying supervisor when necessary. Admit and transfer residents to and from other units or outside sources. Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy, and within their scope of practice as defined by Florida law. Observe for side effects or adverse effects to medication and report to assigned supervisor, or further assessment and treatment. Prepare paperwork as required for consults within facility and outside appointments. Coordinate residents’ appointments with unit staff to ensure medications are appropriately timed as need for resident movement to and from the unit. Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by facility and Florida law and notifying supervisor for further assistance. Complete incident reports factually and objectively, within the appropriate time frame as defined by the facility. #J-18808-Ljbffr
