Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology

Location This position is located at the California Proton Therapy Center - 9730 Summers Ridge Road, San Diego, CA 92121. Schedule & Shift Start date: 6/15. Shift: 4x10s days, Monday through Friday. Start times vary between 0600 and 0830 depending on patient volume. Major holidays off. Weekend: No, unless making up for beam downtime. Eligibility & Licensing Pending State License accepted: Yes if we have an ETA from licensing. CA RN license required. National Certifications required: BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA). No on‑call duties. Clinician will not float beyond scope to meet facility needs. Experience Requirements 1 year of hemato‑oncology inpatient or outpatient experience plus a total of 4 years as an RN. Travel & Scheduling First‑time travelers accepted: Yes. RTO restrictions: 6 days max. Guaranteed hours are provided after the call‑off policy has been met. Special Requirements CA RN license 1 year of pediatric hemato‑oncology inpatient or outpatient experience and 4 years as an RN Central line and IV start experience Experience in radiation therapy and/or sedation BLS (AHA) PALS (AHA) APHON preferred CPHON or CPON preferred Unit Summary Patient Diagnoses: Oncology – brain tumors, Ewings sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma and lymphomas Oncology – neuroblastoma, anemia, leukemia/lymphoma, solid tumor, brain tumor Hematology – hemophilia/ITP/sickle cell anemia Patient Population: Average 15 to 25 pediatric patients per day in a blood and marrow transplantation setting at the Proton Center.
