Manufacturing Engineer IIIThe Manufacturing Engineer III develops, reviews and evaluates manufacturing processes, working with the engineering and production teams on product design and tooling to ensure that manufacturing goals are achieved safely and efficiently.The Manufacturing Engineer III is responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Department and the Machine Shop. Review and evaluate manufacturing processes, working with the engineering and production teams on product design and tooling to ensure that manufacturing goals are achieved safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPrimary support for the Machining process and equipmentProvide support to the Manufacturing Engineering DepartmentApply engineering concepts in a low-volume/high-configuration manufacturing environmentAnalyze and plan equipment and tooling requirements for the Machine ShopCreate and update mechanical drawings to meet current design standardsCreate and update work instructions and other necessary documentation for manufacturingCreate and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO)Work directly with assemblers, technicians and engineers with a hands-on approach to identify improvement opportunities and problem root causeTrain manufacturing personnel on new or updated assembly processesPropose and implement efficient work cell layouts in a Lean Manufacturing EnvironmentDesign fixturing using CAD software at an intermediate levelRecommend equipment, materials and tooling to provide necessary manufacturing capabilitiesWriting justification for capital projectsNew equipment implementation/validation (IQ, OQ, PQ)Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production estimates, staff/equipment requirements and other considerations to support new product planning and development effortsReview and disposition non-conforming materialPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsExperience:Minimum three (3) years of experience in a specialized functional discipline. OR (6) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
