Controls Technician

Contract-to-Hire Electrical TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced professional to join a company that designs, manufactures, and installs robotic systems for industrial manufacturing applications within the aerospace industry. Our technology supports the direct manufacturing and maintenance of aerospace structures. We take pride in our dynamic, collaborative, and highly skilled engineering team and are looking for individuals who are passionate about developing innovative solutions to solve complex customer challenges.We are currently hiring a Contract-to-Hire Electrical Technician to build, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic equipment and automated production systems. This role involves diagnosing and repairing robots and peripheral equipment, including circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors. The anticipated contract period is 60–90 days, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time position.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot robotic systems using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor and feedback systems, hydraulics, and pneumaticsInstall wiring, software programs, robot controllers, end-of-arm tooling, and related equipmentPerform complete electrical builds of robotic systems and validate functionality to ensure all systems meet quality, safety, and compliance standards before shipmentConduct final electrical inspections and diagnostics on wiring harnesses, sensors, motors, and other critical componentsIdentify and resolve electrical issues by interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specificationsMaintain detailed service records, including test results, repairs, and system modificationsPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and componentsCollaborate with engineering and design teams to improve product designs and streamline testing processesAlign, fit, and assemble wire harnesses using hand tools, soldering tools, fixtures, and measurement equipmentBasic Qualifications3+ years of experience in an Electrical Technician or similar roleStrong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and schematicsAbility to work flexible hours, including overtime as neededU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status requiredAbility to travel as neededStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to repeatedly lift to 30 lbs to waist height throughout the workdayPreferred Skills & ExperienceExperience working with robotic systemsFamiliarity with electrical safety and compliance standards, including IPC and MIL-STD requirementsHands-on experience with electro-mechanical systemsExperience assembling and troubleshooting automation systemsExperience operating industrial robots, including Fanuc and Yaskawa modelsExperience wiring electrical systems and control cabinets to drawing standardsFamiliarity with shop tools and standard safety proceduresCurrent IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification preferredExperience with offline robot programmingHMI and PLC programming experienceKnowledge of fieldbus networks, serial communication, and Ethernet communicationExposure to industrial production machinery, sensors, and power systems, including computer vision systems, laser distance sensors, servo drives, and feedback devicesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively identify resources needed to complete tasksStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaborativelyCompensation & Schedule$30.00/hourTemp-to-perm opportunity1st Shift
