Dimensional Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing

An international automotive manufacturing company with a facility in the Shelby Township, MI area is currently seeking an experienced Dimensional Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity with their growing engineering team. Qualified Dimensional Engineers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• 2+ years of experience with GD&T, dimensional engineering, dimensional management, or dimensional analysis in an automotive or manufacturing environment.

• Experience using NX and/or CATIA V5/V6 for 2D and 3D GD&T applications is required.

• Experience with dimensional stack-ups, tolerance analysis, CMM report interpretation, dimensional approvals, and Gage R&R.

• Experience supporting gage design, development, review, and approval processes.

• Experience with automotive sheet metal, frame building, body structures, or similar automotive manufacturing applications is required.

• Knowledge of PMI and experience with Teamcenter is highly desirable.

• Strong communication and project coordination skills with the ability to work directly with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and metrology groups.

• A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline is a benefit but not essential. Equivalent automotive dimensional engineering, GD&T, CAD, and manufacturing experience will be strongly considered.

• Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered).

• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks, including background check, drug screen, references, etc.
