Job Description
Physical Therapist (PT)

This position offers a flexible work schedule, allowing for either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 6 PM, and Friday from 7 AM to 2 PM. Weekend work is not required.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for delegating tasks to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides. The role focuses on patient care, utilizing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• (20%) Evaluate patient functions through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• (20%) Develop a specific treatment regime tailored to assessment findings and the patient's ability to follow the treatment plan.
• (20%) Document a written treatment regime to be included as part of the treatment plan, ensuring it is authorized and coordinated with the physician. Update plans of care as necessary in response to patient status changes.
• (20%) Create a schedule for treatment sessions that outlines frequency and duration, to be discussed with the patient, family, and clinical support staff.
• (20%) Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment alternatives, prognosis, and the rationale behind treatment methods including rest, exercise, modalities, and other interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient setting is required.
• Must have an active physical therapy license in Michigan.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• A skills checklist pertinent to the specialty must be up to date within the last year.
• Two supervisory reference forms must be completed within the past two years.
