Lead teams (internal and external) to deliver innovative solutions, including projects that encompass distributed energy resources and smart infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage project teams, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will serve as a mentor to junior project managers and play a key role in shaping project management best practices across the organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Embrace, operate, and lead within our core values.Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations.Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication among project teams.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.Mentor and support junior project managers and team members.Provide On-Site support for ongoing projects and bid submittals.Provide consulting services for clients as part of ongoing or new project submittals.Source new RFP's and streams of opportunities for ongoing vertical growth.Onboard and work with contractors to meet requirements of current and future projects.Education & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or related field.12+ years of progressive experience in energy engineering, utility programs, grid operations, or distributed energy resources (DERs) integration.Demonstrated expertise in several of the following:Grid operations and distribution systemsLoad managementDemand responseVirtual power plantsNon?wire alternativesBattery Energy Storage systemsEnergy audits and building systemsEnergy modeling and savings calculationsSmart infrastructure initiativesConnected Mobility servicesProven leadership experience managing technical teams.Proven track record of managing complex projects.Strong understanding of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Electrical or related discipline.Experience with modeling tools such as PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSSE, eQUEST, or EnergyPlus.Familiarity with utility regulatory environments and energy efficiency and DER program requirements.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proven experience with distributed energy resources, mobility services and infrastructure initiatives.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Experience in mentoring or coaching project teams.Proven account management or other relevant experience.Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment.Relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity.Ability to prioritize among competing tasks.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.Expert at Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all team members.Deliver consistent performance against set targets on key customer satisfaction measures and carry out weekly reviews of KPI's.Licenses & Certifications:Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement Valuation Professional (CMVP), or equivalent certification preferred.PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Ability to lift up to 30 poundsNoise level is typically low to moderateNote: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Walker-Miller Energy Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.At Walker-Miller Energy Services, we Embrace Equity by encouraging qualified candidates from all backgrounds and identities to apply for open positions!
