The position involves working with residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, tailoring care to meet their specific needs. Key aspects of the role include the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques. Understanding the behaviors associated with Alzheimer's and dementia is essential, as these behaviors can serve as valid forms of communication. The RN provides needed care to residents requiring long-term placement in a home-like environment. The position also includes providing short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to patients recovering from various illnesses or injuries. Nursing services often involve IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management. The role requires flexibility to float to other units as needed. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the specified requirements.
