Job Title Shamrock Connections Teacher (Temporary) Position Details Position Type: High School Teaching / Special Education Date Posted: 3/6/2026 Location: Westfield High School Date Available: 08/11/2026 Job ID: 1607 Job Description TEACHER – SHAMROCK CONNECTIONS Temporary - Effective 08/11/2026 - 10/16/2026 Supervisor: Assistant Director of Special Education Terms: 184 days Overall Area Provide the instruction, support, and experiences for students with special needs, who participate in the Transition Program. Instruction will be provided across all environments including the classroom, community, and job site. The focus of the program is to further develop employability, daily living, self‑determination, and interpersonal skills that lead to a successful transition to adult life within the community. Essential Functions Design, revise, and maintain instructional programs that guide the learning process toward the learning objectives of the program and align with student IEP goals/objectives. Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior. Design, revise, and maintain a class schedule consisting of activities developed that support the learning objectives of the program and align with student IEP goals/objectives. Activities should be planned across environments, including the classroom, community and place of employment, and aligned to skills being developed. Coordinate school and community work‑based or volunteer learning opportunities. Teach lessons to develop pre‑vocational skills to students. Monitor student job performance and progress made on goals to be reported each reporting period. Participate in Transition Planning meetings and implement movement to adult services for exiting students. Strive to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Demonstrate team leadership skills for a group of paraprofessionals. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Qualifications B.S. in Education Valid Indiana Teaching license in Special Education Must have excellent organization and communication skills.
