Instructional Designer Northern State University Posting Number: NFE02966P DepartmentL: NSU-Graduate School Physical Location of Position (City): Aberdeen Position Summary Northern State University seeks a collaborative faculty-supportprofessional to lead instructional design initiatives andcoordinate Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)operations in support of continuous improvement in teaching andlearning. A key priority is helping NSU faculty leverage Northern's uniquee-learning mission to enhance teaching andlearning across allmodalities, including on campus, online, and HyFlex. Key Responsibilities Faculty Support & Instructional Design Guide course development and improvement across all modalities(on campus, online, and HyFlex) using best practices ininstructional and universal design. Lead the Quality Assurance Review process for online and HyFlexcourses. Consult with faculty on course design, technology integration,experiential learning, and digital tools. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and federalregulations in coordination with Online Learning and ContinuingEducation. Leadership in Pedagogy Champion experiential learning and support faculty in adoptingnew technologies, expanding student engagement, and redesigningassessments to support student learning outcomes. Design and deliver trainings, including creatingmicro-credentials for online and HyFlex instruction. Share research in teaching and learning, assessment, teachinginnovations, and student success through CETL communications andstrategic initiatives. CETL Program Coordination Manage CETL events, trainings, communications, and day-to-dayoperations. Supervise CETL graduate assistant and technology fellow.Represent NSU in SDBOR and COPLAC teaching networks and coordinatefaculty mentoring efforts. Knowledge of Pedagogy, learning management systems, learning theories,technologies and computer software. Skill & Ability to Communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, collaborateacross faculty of various ranks and disciplines, prioritize dailytasks while advancing long-term goals, host events and trainings,organize an office and manage student employees, and maintaindetailed records. Education and Experience Bachelor's degreerequired. Master's degree preferred. Degree in instructionaldesign, technology, pedagogy, education, preferred.
