Distribution Center Supervisor

Supervises all Distribution Center employees; ensure the smooth operation of the Distribution Center and create an atmosphere of high productivity while keeping within the guidelines of company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement company policies and procedures.
• Assist the stores with any problems.
• Communicate with the buyer of any errors or problems pertaining to purchase orders.
• Oversee the production of all departmental employees, including housekeeping and ticket making.
• Motivate workers for high productivity. Measures and reports productivity of employees.
• Participate in annual performance evaluations for departmental employees.
• Responsible for the overall securities of merchandise, including control of internal shrinkage.
• Oversee the daily production of orders per receiver.
• Give verbal routing instructions by phone when requested by vendors.
• Assist with matching packing slips to purchase orders when needed.
• Work with buyers and merchandisers to process priority merchandise first.
• Troubleshoot inventory issues.
• Available to work with buyers during visits to the distribution center.
• Communicate with manager/traffic supervisor is there is any freight chargebacks, when applicable.
• Assist taggers with problem orders.
• Supervise the number of receiving errors. Fills out a disciplinary summary, if need be.
• Document issues and work to create solutions to improve the efficiency involving the receiving and tagging of merchandise.
• Assist with drop shipments when needed.
• Communicate with supplies on when supplies are low, ex: copy paper, hanging tickets, sticky tickets, etc.
• Communicate with the manager about employees' productivity, complaints, and any other matters. As well as, the daily receiving operations. Make recommendations for the improvement of the company's efficiency, productivity and/or operations.

Position Specifications:

Education: B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent work experience.

Traits: Neat, orderly, and accurate. Security and safety conscious. Computer, internet, and personal telephone etiquette skills a plus.

Essential Functions of Job: The physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job. Required to stand, walk, talk or hear, use hands and have ability to reach overhead. Regular lifting or moving of up to 25lbs, possible up to 50lbs. Requires bending, stooping, and ability to climb stairs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus and ability to write, count, and read required shipping/company paperwork.
