About the Job Cost Accountant II
Top Gun Staffing Group is partnering with a respected, innovation-focused manufacturer to identify a Cost Accountant who can elevate financial clarity, strengthen operational decision-making, and bring disciplined insight to a growing organization. This Cost Accountant role is designed for a professional who thrives on precision, understands the strategic impact of cost intelligence, and is motivated by contributing to a high-performance culture.
The Cost Accountant plays a critical role in shaping the organization’s financial accuracy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a balanced blend of analytical rigor, business partnership, and the ability to translate complex cost activity into clear, actionable guidance for leadership.
Key Areas of Impact
- Develop and maintain reliable cost structures that support planning, pricing, and operational strategy
- Strengthening financial forecasts by delivering consistent, data-driven cost-insights
- Evaluate cost performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with production, supply chain, and operations to ensure cost data integrity
- Prepare organized, audit-ready cost documentation for internal and external review
- Produce recurring cost summaries that inform leadership and support strategic alignment
- Uphold accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2–4 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of cost methodologies and GAAP principles
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working within ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Proven analytical capability and a disciplined, detail-oriented approach
- Ability to manage priorities independently and meet established deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to standard costing frameworks
- Understanding of inventory flow and cost allocation practices
- Familiarity with SOX-related processes
Work Location | Hours
- Onsite
- Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Salary Range:
- $95,000 - $105,000/year commensurate with experience
