Applications Engineer (Open) – R10091019 Location: Twinsburg, OH (AES) – Management Atlanta, GA (APG) – Bulk cryo logistics Overview As a member of the Airgas ALTEC Engineering Solutions Group, based in the Cleveland Ohio area, this role focuses on designing and installing equipment systems that support Airgas' portfolio of gas applications to various industries. The position supports customer solutions across safety, efficiency, and reliability. Responsibilities Understand technical processes for specific industrial gas applications and diagnose/value‑propose Airgas solutions. Provide proactive technical sales support and business development for Airgas' 16 Regional Companies sales groups. Lead lead generation, prepare and present technical and value‑based proposals to prospects/customers. Manage all aspects of customer relationships: problem identification, equipment selection, data analysis, system development, proposal, specification/manufacturing, start‑up, and long‑term support. Identify and develop new products/applications. Interface internally with account managers, bulk gas specialists, equipment engineers and marketing, and externally with customers and vendors. Prepare training material and conduct training sessions for internal and external customers. May assist in development, oversight and training of Equipment Engineers and Applications Engineers. Report to Director – Chemicals, Environment & Technical Solutions, part of the ALTEC Engineered Solutions team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. 3–10 years of applications engineering or direct industry experience. Capable of domestic travel up to approximately 50% (including overnight stays). Willing to work weekends/holidays as needed to meet project schedules. Strong knowledge of gas properties, thermodynamics, and industry practices. Benefits Salary range: $105,000–$130,000. Comprehensive family benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability.
