Position Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient/ambulatory care team in Utica, NY. The RN will provide high-quality patient care throughout the pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure phases while assisting physicians and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional clinical outcomes.


The ideal candidate will have experience in ambulatory care, outpatient procedures, PACU, GI Lab, endoscopy, or procedural nursing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
• Start IVs and administer medications as ordered
• Assist physicians during outpatient procedures
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation under physician supervision
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and recovery
• Document patient care accurately and timely
• Maintain infection control and sterilization standards
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
• Participate in quality assurance and continuing education activities

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Minimum 1 year of ambulatory/outpatient nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Strong IV and patient assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment

• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
• PACU
• Endoscopy/GI Lab
• Same Day Surgery
• Procedural Nursing
• Conscious Sedation Monitoring

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and lift light equipment as needed
• Ability to push/pull carts and assist with patient transport
