Pediatric Neonatology Division Director (Open Rank) Opportunity:The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neonatology Division Director at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians dedicated to advancing care for children.This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and engage in meaningful clinical care across UTMB’s Galveston Island and Clear Lake, and Angleton campusesPrimary responsibilities include overseeing the Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas,; supporting faculty development and recruitment; ensuring continuity of care and coverage during the leadership transition; leading the Level IV Galveston NICU; promoting all nursery certification efforts, driving strategic upgrades to establish a Level III NICU at Clear Lake Hospital and a Level II Nursery at Angleton-Danbury Hospital; maintain alignment with institutional priorities; and advancing key initiatives in neonatal care and research, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in clinical outcomes. The successful candidate will:Provide comprehensive pediatric neonatology care across inpatient and outpatient settings.Lead a multidisciplinary team to support the division’s clinical, research, and educational missions.Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.Provide administrative oversight and leadership to a large neonatology program with multiple clinical sites.Qualifications:RequiredM.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program and Pediatric Neonatology Fellowship.Board Certification in Pediatric Neonatology.Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.Demonstrated commitment to patient care, research, and medical education.PreferredTen years of clinical experience.Prior academic experience in resident, medical student, and fellowship education.Robust record of research and publication.Income Package:Salary will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience, and includes a very obtainable RVU based bonus program.
