Job Description

Tidewater Neurologists, Inc. and Sleep Disorder Specialists are looking for a skilled, patient-focused day shift Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our expanding sleep medicine team. This role is crucial in assisting patients with sleep apnea through CPAP therapy, ensuring adherence, comfort, and long-term success. 

You will work closely with patients in an outpatient clinical setting, providing education on, set up for, and follow-up care for CPAP therapy, directly impacting patient outcomes and quality of life. Main Responsibilities

Clinically support patients using CPAP therapy through follow-up visitsPerform CPAP setups, mask fittings, and pressure verificationEducate patients on CPAP use, care, and troubleshootingIncrease patient CPAP compliance through education and encouragementMonitor patient usage and compliance data and report as required for insuranceCommunicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff regarding patient progressMaintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA standardsWork independently while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team

Minimum Requirements

Must be a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT)Associate degree from an AMA-approved respiratory programStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service and patient education skillsProficiency with computers and basic medical software systemsAbility to manage time effectively and multitask in a clinical environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience setting up CPAP devices (strongly preferred)Experience in sleep medicine, DME, CPAP, or sleep apnea treatmentFamiliarity with compliance monitoring and insurance documentation

Compensation

$30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
